APRIL 28th; LORD'S Day (Sunday); 2024.
THIS WEEK'S HYMN. “How Great Thou Art” by Rev. Mr. Carl Gustaf Boberg (1859-1940). Rev. Boberg composed this Hymn in 1886 when he was 27 years old.
THIS WEEK'S THANKSGIVING. I Timothy 2.1 says: “First of all, giving of thanks.” 1. More people have returned from the hospital. 2. A Gentleman who has had an extended stay in the hospital finally came Home to his Care Facility. This past week he was glad to be in the Church Service. We were glad to have him back. 3. There were good visits in the Care Facilities. The Meetings went well. Some new Residents have been thankful to attend. Leviticus 11.1,2 says: “The Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat.” Philippians 4.8 says: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
THIS WEEK'S PRAYERLIST. These Prayer Requests have been made in part by different Residents and Staff in the Care Facilities. 1. Those who are in the hospital. 2. Sickness is still circulating in different circles. Please pray for those who are not well these days. 3. Many are concerned for their Families. Request has been made that they be remembered in Prayer. 4. One of the Sermon Advertisers requests Prayer for a particular need. 5. An Activity Director asks Prayer for her Residents. 6. A Lady's Brother-in-law is dying. 7. Another Lady has an unspoken request. Leviticus 11.32 says: “The vessel must be put into water, and it shall be cleansed.” II Timothy 2.21 says: “If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the Master's use, and prepared unto every good work.” *In the Thanksgiving and Prayerlist sections, the names of the people have been withheld to protect their privacy. Nevertheless, the Thanksgivings and Prayer Requests are real and actual.
THIS WEEK'S COLPORTAGE REPORT. 1. Last week, besides Dr. Spence's visits in his weekly Care Facilities, on one of his days off, he conducted a Colportage Day among Care Facilities he does not visit. For about 6 hours and 98 miles, 10 Letters and 105 Printed Sermons were distributed in 14 Care Facilities located in Washington, Canonsburg, and McMurray. Some Notes on the day— First: It was a delightful day. Second: The Aides, Receptionists, Nurses, and Administrator were pleasant, polite, and thankful for the Printed Sermons. In some places, the Printed Sermons were passed out immediately. Third: In one particular place, Dr. Spence spoke with an Activity Director who expressed sincere interest in his work. She was glad to receive the Printed Sermons and planned to pass them out that day. THE LORD now take, bless, and use the Printed Sermons to do good to the souls of these dear people! 2. Would you read a King James Version Bible or New Testament? We also have the Book of Psalms in Braille. These dear Books are gently used. They come in different sizes. Many Residents have left these Books for Dr. Spence during the past years. If you or someone you know would use one or two of these Books, please contact us. The Books and postage are free.
